Cinemas & Movie Theatres - films in English Barcelona

In Barcelona there are a lot of cinemas and movie theatres and you will be spoilt for choice if you like watching movies on the big screen in English. However, most cinemas show films that are dubbed so, unless you can understand Spanish very well, you will need to look for film in original version (marked as V.O. meaning ‘version original’).
There are some cinemas and movie theatres in Barcelona that show films in original language all the time and these are:

Cines Renoir (www.cinesrenoir.com ) – this chain has two cinemas in Barcelona: Renoir Les Corts (Eugeni d’Ors 12, metro Les Corts, tel. 934 905 510) and Renoir Floridablanca (Floridablanca 135, near metro Universitat and Sant Antoni, tel. 934 263 337). They always show films in original version from different countries.

The Icaria-Yelmo Cineplex www.yelmocineplex.com this cinema has 15 screens all showing films in original language and it is located in C/ Salvador Espriú, 61 inside the Centro Comercial El Centre de la Vila, Port Olimpic, tel. 93 221 75 85 / 93 221 72 56

The Alexis – this cinema, in Rambla de Catalunya 90, Barcelona, also shows movies in original language. For more information they can be contacted on 932 150 506

Cines Verdi – these cinemas, located in Barcelona, in the district of Gracia, show movies in original version. There are two Verdi Cinemas: one in Calle Verdi, 32, tel. 932 387 800, and the other, called Cine Verdi Park, in Calle Torrrijos 49 (tel. 932 387 990)

The Filmoteca of Catalunya (http://cultura.gencat.net/filmo/ ) – this film library, run by the county councils, offer also films in original language. It is located in Avenida Sarrià, 31-33, tel: 93 410 7590, by metro Hospital Clínic.

Microcine Void-Zelig (www.void-bcn.com ) – this is a minicinema, located on Ferlandina 5, Raval (near MACBA) that, more than a cinema, is a café with a small screen and a few seat, showing cult movies.
