Within this region, the little hamlet of Sant Sadurni D’Noia is by far the most popular destination for those interested in learning about Cava and wine tasting.
There are two main vineyards in the area, Freixenet and Codorniu; of the two, Codorniu is by far the oldest, having been opened in 1551, and houses one of the most comprehensive Cava museums in the world. Cava is popularly known as Spanish
Champagne and has a long history that dates back to many centuries.
At the Cava Museum situated in the Codorniu winery, visitors will have a chance to explore the history of the drink itself and better understand the development of this variety of wine.
